The UCLA Center for World Health recognizes the need for pilot/seed grant opportunities to launch innovative research that addresses important issues in world health. The following are UCLA-sponsored pilot/seed grant resources available to UCLA-affiliated investigators conducting international health research. Please contact Greg Szekeres at if your Department or Program has a pilot/seed grant opportunity you would like the Center to list.

Global HIV

The UCLA Center for World Health partners with the UCLA AIDS Institute ⁄ Center for AIDS Research on an International HIV Seed Grant RFA, open to UCLA-affiliated faculty and fellows. The objective is to provide pilot funding for projects that foster collaboration between UCLA and scientists from low- and middle-income countries, in order to stimulate HIV research in these settings.

The Center also collaborates with the UCLA AIDS Institute/Center for AIDS Research to offer travel grants to UCLA-affiliated faculty and fellows to support initiation of new international HIV research projects.
